Former Hermiston standout Jared Zabransky is listed as a free agent in the Canadian Football League, where he played the last two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. He was cut in early May and could be out of football completely if he doesn’t sign a contract by the beginning of the CFL season, July 3.

Zabransky was 53 of 104 for 609 yards during his two years in the pass-heavy CFL. He threw four touchdowns and 10 interceptions with all his attempts coming in 2010. He also rushed for 209 yards on 28 carries in 2010.

The Boise State star led the Broncos to a wild Fiesta Bowl win, 43-42 over heavily-favored Oklahoma, in 2007. He threw the pass in the famous “hook-and-ladder” play and executed the “Statue of Liberty” play with a behind-the-back handoff to Ian Johnson for BSU’s winning conversion.

He was also on the cover of the EA Sports video game, “NCAA Football 2008.”
