Kynzee Padilla, 11, of Hermiston, has qualified for the regional NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition, held Sunday at Qwest Field in Seattle.

After blowing away the competition at the sectional level Oct. 23 in La Grande, Padilla will compete against three other girls in the 10-11 year-old age group at halftime of the game between the Seahawks and Carolina Panthers. Padilla’s combined distance of 234 feet, 1 inch out-classed the second-place finisher’s 85-1, set by Tess McFetridge of Vale.

If she wins her age group, and has a distance that ranks her in the top-four participants nationally, she will be invited to compete in the national finals, which will be held during a NFL playoff game.

For PP&K, boys and girls ages 6-15 are allowed to compete. Scoring is based on not just how far they can punt, pass or kick, but how accurate they are as well.

Each NFL team hosts a regional competition.
