The Hermiston Bulldogs boys cross country team —

well, the Columbia Corridor Corredores rather — placed 11th at the

Nike Northwest Regionals cross country meet Saturday at Eagle

Island in Boise, Idaho.

The team finished as the fourth-best Oregon team at

the race, behind the Axemen Running Club of South Eugene, Summit

Running Club from Bend and the Crusader Harriers from the

Beaverton/Portland area.

The Corredores scored 308 points, 17 more than the

Crusader Harriers.

Eduardo Juarez led the team with a 22nd place finish

with a time of 16 minutes, 15.5 seconds. He earned 13 team points

since eight runner ahead of him ran unattached.

Alejandro Cisneros placed 52nd with a 16:45.5 and

Jose Macias earned 57th palce with a time of 16:50.5.

Javier Velasco came in 87th place with a 17:05.6 and

Kain Garcia rounded out the scoring runners with a time of


Runners from Oregon, Washington, Montana, Alaska,

Idaho, Hawaii and Wyoming ran in the race, which had both a

championship race and a junior varsity race.

North Spokane XC Club, made up of runners from the

No. 1-ranked high school team in the region North Central HS, won

the team championship with a score of 95 points.
