Riverside 44, Umatilla 0

The?Riverside Pirates blew up for 22 third-quarter points en route to a resounding 44-0 win over Umatilla on Friday at Milt Durand Field in Umatilla.

The win ended a 5-game losing streak for Riverside and is the first win in Eastern?Oregon League play for the squad.

Tailback Harley Orcutt led the way for the Pirates, rushing for 170 yards on 26 carries. Chuy Alba had six carries, but made them really count, notching 104 yards on the ground.

Riverside will end the EOL schedule at Vale on Friday. Umatilla travels to John Day to face Grant Union.

Echo 62, Arlington 22

The Echo Cougars nearly assured themselves a spot in the Class 1A state football playoffs, hammering Arlington, 62-22, Friday in Arlington.

Running back Ethan Marcum had a tremendous night running the ball, tallying an eye-popping 420 rushing yards to go with six touchdowns.

The Cougars can lock up the conference’s final playoff spot with a win over Ione at 7 p.m. Friday in Echo.

Stanfield 44, Enterprise 37

Quin Grogan broke off 161 yards rushing and three touchdowns, leading Stanfield to a 44-37 win Friday against Enterprise in Enterprise.

A stout Stanfield defense allowed just one touchdown in the second half to the Outlaws. Stanfield quarterback Derek Monkus threw a pair of touchdown passes to Trey Blevins and sophomore running back Corey Baros ran for 130 yards.

Stanfield will host Pilot Rock at 7 p.m. Friday. If the Tigers win, they will make the state playoffs.
