The Oregon School Activities Association announced on Thursday it will go forward as a six-classification entity, based on the show of support for maintaining the status quo from a majority of the state’s athletic directors.

The choice between five and six classifications boiled down to which would create the most competitive balance, and since more athletic directors believed it would be the current six-class system, the OSAA let democracy rule.
