People can now register for the East Oregonian/Hermiston Herald Butte Challenge run online at www.active.com.

The event, in its 13th year, will kick off at 7:30 a.m. May 12 (Mother’s Day Weekend) at Hermiston’s Butte Park.

Cost for the 5K run/walk and 10K run is $25, and if registered by May 1 runners will receive a Brooks technical T-shirt.

All entries after May 1 are still $25 but won’t be guaranteed a T-shirt. Limited supplies of T-shirts will be sold at the race.

There will be race-day registration and that will cost $30.

There’s also the Kids’ “Butte Scoot,” a race that’s about a mile for kids ages 5-12, and that is free.

The races will be chip-timed like last year and begins at 9 a.m.
