The Eastern Family Taekwondo school recently competed in the 2013 Grand Master’s Legacy Cup at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham.

Students ranging from ages five and under to 60 and over participated in the forms and sparring competition. There were more than 400 competitors in the tournament. The tournament consisted of board breaking, power breaking, taekwondo traditional forms, open forms, weapons and sparring.

Many of the Eastern Family Taekwondo students earned medals for their efforts.

Hermiston’s Megan Olsen won gold in forms and silver in sparring. Melissa Shilhanek of Stanfield took home a bronze in traditional forms and a bronze in open forms.

Echo’s Riley Campbell won a silver medal in sparring. Carter Olsen of Hermiston won bronze in both forms and sparring while Grant Olsen took home a bronze in forms and a gold in sparring.
