Hermiston dropped a 34-14 contest to the Lewiston (Idaho) Bengals on Friday in Lewiston.

With a new starting quarterback in sophomore Jerod Munsterman, the Bulldogs usually-potent offense didn’t materialize and was held scoreless in the first half.

Munsterman, who recently earned quaterbacking duties full-time, connected on 9 of 23 passes for 83 yards with two interceptions. He hit Joey Burns for an 11-yard score in the fourth quarter.

Running back Jacob Almaguer rushed for 80 yards on 17 carries, scoring a touchdown in the third quarter on a 26-yard run, his longest run of the night.

The Dawgs hope to return to the win column at 7 p.m. Friday — against winless Moses Lake (Wash.) — at Kennison Field. Moses Lake is a Class 4A high school from the Columbia Basin Big Nine conference.
