NEWBERG — George Fox University recently celebrated its spring commencement exercises, awarding bachelor’s degrees to 458 students and graduate-level degrees to another 382 students. Echo native Christopher Zita was among the spring graduates, earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Local students also were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Tavin Headings, a junior journalism major from Hermiston, and Kaleigh Waggoner, a junior undelcared major from Pilot Rock, were named to the list of honor students, both earning a minimum 3.5 GPA while carrying 12 or more hours of graded work for the semester.
