11:40 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of a assault at the intersection of Northwest 13th Street and West Hartley Avenue.

2:47 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the Country Club Manor Apartments, 605 Umatilla Ave.

3:32 p.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle theft at Western Express on 28810 Stafford Hansel Road, Hermiston.

4:48 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Carolina Road.

5:21 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of an assault on the 300 block of West Theater Lane.

9:18 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Eighth Street.

Tuesday, Nov. 9

7:20 a.m. — A caller reported a fire in a large garbage container at Castle Rock Apartments, Boardman, on Tatone Street Southwest.

11:35 a.m. — A resident on East Coe Avenue, Stanfield, reported someone entered their home while it was unoccupied and moved items around, but nothing seemed to be missing.

1:16 p.m. — A person dropped by the Hermiston Police Department, 330 S. First St., and reported there was a man at a site on West Highland Avenue eating leaves, throwing his hat in the air and licking it and smoking something. The person was gone when officers checked the area.

4:31 p.m. — A Hermiston resident reported the theft of his wallet with $800 in cash and bank cards from his home. He said his girlfriend may have taken it. Police took a report.

Wednesday, Nov. 10

8:18 a.m. — A Hermiston resident asked to speak to an officer about his ex who is driving his car and has not installed an interlock system and is drinking because of the break up.

4:32 p.m. — A caller reported a person was stealing items from a back yard on Northwest Third Street, Hermiston. Police took a report.

Thursday, Nov. 11

11:45 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to reports of a burglary on the 800 block of West Orchard Avenue.

4:04 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a reported burglary on West Madrona Avenue.

Friday, Nov. 12

9:05 a.m. — A vehicle crashed into a utility pole at Diagonal and North Edwards roads, Hermiston, knocking down some lines from the pole.

4:51 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to the 800 block of South Highway 395 on a report of a robbery.

7:04 p.m. — Emergency services responded to South Earl Street, Stanfield, for a motor home on fire.

Saturday, Nov. 13

2:12 a.m. — A 911 caller reported a vehicle rolled on Rhea Creek Road, Ione, and someone was injured. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency agencies responded.

4:56 a.m. — A 911 caller at Driftwood RV Resort, 800 W. Kunze Lane, Boardman, reported losing her emotional support dog, a Saint Bernard/husky mix. Boardman police said they would keep an eye out for the dog.

10:20 a.m. — A caller at the North Morrow County Transfer Station, 69900 Frontage Lane, Boardman, reported losing his wallet, which contained about $85 cash and several credit cards.

4:01 p.m. — A caller at Love’s Travel Stop, 78665 Tower Road, Boardman, reported he received a report of a man by the garbage about an hour earlier and telling someone on the phone he was “hiding from the cops.” The man then took off in a vehicle without license plates to a Motel 6.

7:18 p.m. — A resident on Craig Road, Hermiston, reported people parked in two vehicles on Shoop Lane near his house were suspicious and yelling.

8:13 p.m. — A 911 caller reported hearing gunshots on Highway 207, Echo.

Sunday, Nov. 14

7:32 p.m. — A resident on Olson Road, Boardman, reported hearing gunfire from a semiautomatic weapon and loud music from the area of Kunze Lane for about 30 minutes. The caller said this could be a party.

10:31 p.m. — A caller reported hearing four gunshots coming from west of Northwest Oregon Avenue, Irrigon.

Monday, Nov. 15

2:26 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to the 600 block of South First Street on a report of an assault.

Arrests, citations

Nov. 8

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Dean Summers, 37, for second-degree burglary, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft.

Nov. 9

Hermiston police arrested Andres Chales Lorenzo, 28, for second-degree child neglect, violating probation and failing to appear in court.

Nov. 10

Umatilla police arrested Veronica Gutierrez, 42, for fourth-degree assault and interfering with a law enforcement report.

Nov. 12

Stanfield police arrested Ridge Christian Matzen, 28, for violating probation, providing false information to law enforcement and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Nov. 13

Hermiston police arrested Luizinho Martinez Penaloza, 28, for strangulation and violating a restraining order, both misdemeanors.

An Oregon State Police trooper at 10:17 p.m. on Highway 395 near milepost 3A, Umatilla, saw two vehicles take off from a stop light at high speeds and with engines hitting “high audible” revolutions per minute. The trooper stopped one vehicle, a gray Chevrolet Camaro. The 17-year-old male driver from Hermiston admitted he and the other driver were racing, according to OSP. The teen also was driving without a license.

The trooper had a tow truck take the Chevrolet, and the teen got a ride from a friend.
