Earl W. Connell Sr. and his wife, Alita (Loos) Connell, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner with family and friends. They were married Nov. 25, 1961, at the Church of the Nazarene in La Grande.
After their wedding, the Connells moved to Burns, where Earl started his plumbing career as an apprentice. They later moved to Boardman, where they lived for 30 years. Earl worked as a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 598 for 37 years before retiring. Alita worked at Lamb Weston for 15 years.
They now live in Hermiston, where they enjoy camping and fishing.
The Connells have five children: Gloria, Earl Jr. and wife Lisa, Mike and wife Angia, Sam and wife Kristin, and James and wife Tuffany. They also have nine grandchildren.
