Thumbs Up: To the Hermiston City Council and the Hermiston School Board for recently supporting the renewal of the Blue Mountain Community College capital improvement bond. The measure will appear on votersÂ’ November ballot and, if passed, a portion of the funds would be used to build a center for sustainable precision irrigated agriculture in Hermiston. The fact both the City Council and School Board recognize how a center could benefit this area and voiced their support of the measure shows the two entities are interested in improving the quality of life and educational opportunities in the county.
