Knowledge is power – not only in the classroom but around your house. Doing things yourself can save you money and give you a great sense of satisfaction.

My quest to learn new skills for home use began shortly after I got married. I bought a pair of clippers and started cutting my husband’s hair. At times, he didn’t appreciate being my guinea pig. In fact, he told me more than once that I could never cut his hair again. But thankfully I’ve improved a lot over the years. It’s been almost nine years since I started, and we have literally saved hundreds of dollars. I’ve also cut our children’s hair.
