To the editor:

I encourage all Stanfield residents to vote YES on Ballot 30-129 for our Stanfield Schools.

This ballot will allow for needed structural improvements, replacement of temporary modulars and will build an actual middle school, improving the safety of our students and staff. I encourage all residents to stop by and look at display boards highlighting the improvements. The boards can be found at Main Street Market, Stanfield Public Library, City Hall and at both of our schools. Our current high school is almost 40 years old and has had minimal improvements throughout the years. Safety is a top concern for school districts; this bond would dramatically improve public entrances to both schools which would improve safety for our students. Parking is always an issue at our elementary school. This bond would reconfigure the current parking lot and allow for additional parking and safer walkways. The bond would add a middle school building attaching it to the existing high school to allow for safe passage for all our students.

In addition to all of the positive impacts of the bond, our school district was awarded a matching grant of $4 million dollars if this bond passes. If this bond does not pass, the matching grant will go to another school district in Oregon. This is a great opportunity to bring tax dollars back to our community. Please vote yes for our students and our community. Please vote yes on ballot 30-129.

Thank you,

Wendy Griffin
