I have lived in Hermiston most of my life and I look forward to the yearly fireworks display, lying on the cool grass and watching the fireworks overhead.

But this year was much different, It wasn't trying to find a place to park near the fairgrounds (a normal cost of a city event), nor was it the evening bugs.

No, this year it was something much more aggravating. - no public viewing areas near the fireworks. Sure there was sporadic spaces in the park between trees, but the baseball field, and mainly the fairgrounds were locked up to public access.

Maybe someone in the city government should think about the public before spending thousands of dollars on a event that has to be viewed from side streets and parking lots.
