Obituary: Elizabeth C. ‘Liz’ Rada

PORTLAND — Elizabeth C. “Liz” Rada, 76, of Hermiston died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland. A graveside funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5 at the Hermiston Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering followed immediately afterwards at the Hermiston Eagles Lodge No. 2909.

Mrs. Rada was born April 27, 1934, in Fairfax, Va., to Lum and Ethel Willis. She graduated from high school in Emmett, Idaho, in 1952 and married Earl Rada that same year.

She worked at Lamb Weston in Hermiston for more than 10 years and also volunteered with the Good Shepherd Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include sons Mike Rada and Scott Rada, both of Hermiston; daughters Leslie Winker of Hermiston and Janice Toombs of Irrigon; brother Norman Willis of Idaho; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl in 1975; her parents; and brothers Rex and Jerald.
