Carol Hudson

Carol Margaret Hudson, 67, of Hermiston died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at her home. A celebration of life service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.

Mrs. Hudson was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., to Clinton C. and Clara Catherine Reid. She lived and worked in various locations in Michigan prior to moving to Hermiston in 1972. She married her high school sweetheart Larry J. Hudson in 1959 in Marlette, Mich.

She worked many jobs in Michigan while raising her family, including secretarial, waitressing, bartending, truck driving, school bus driving and production line work with Guerdon Homes. When she moved to Hermiston she worked briefly at the Umatilla Army Depot before taking a job with Marlette Homes, where she worked from 1975 until she retired in 2004.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by children Lori K. Lemke, Jeffrey A. Hudson and Darlene R. Newman, all of Hermiston, and James A. Hudson of College Place, Wash.; sisters Dolly M. Sosnoski and Marcella S. Keel, both of Port Austin, Mich., and Audrey A. Cleary of Winnsboro, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Larry J. Hudson; parents Clinton and Clara Reid; and brother Clinton “Rusty” Reid.
