Howard Salmon

Howard Salmon

Howard Salmon was born on June 10, 1931, in Litchfield, Ohio, to Frank Salmon and Pearl (Deetz) Salmon. He went to be with the Lord with his wife at his side, on October 20, 2013, at his home in Boardman, Oregon, at the age of 82 years. Howard was born and raised on the family farm in Ohio. Howard was the loving Christian husband to Winifred (Stine) Salmon. On the day that he died they had been married for exactly 61½ years.

Shortly after his first 3 children were born he relocated his young family to California. After 11 years in the San Francisco Bay area and the addition of 2 more children, he moved his family from the city to Wallowa County, Ore., back to the rural life style he loved. Boardman, Oregon, was Howard’s last place of residence, were he has lived for the last 38 years.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his five children: Judy, Bonnie, David, Kathy and Steven; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister Eleanor; and brother Rich.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Boardman, Oregon.

Those who wish may make contributions in Howard’s memory to the First Baptist Church, Boardman, Ore., or the Boardman Senior Center.
