Helena Vice

Helena “Nina” Vice, 80, of Irrigon died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Wash. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Stokes Landing Senior Center in Irrigon.

Ms. Vice was born March 20, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., to Salvatore and Hettie Jessi (Barnes) Leonti. She was a longtime resident of Irrigon, and worked tirelessly throughout her retirement years serving the seniors in Irrigon, Boardman and the surrounding communities. She was a longtime volunteer for the annual Watermelon Festival and was grand marshal in 2005.

Survivors include her brother, Sam Leonti; children Annette, Frances, Ragen, April and Tony; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vice; sister Frances Francis; son Gene Hydle; and son-in-law Howard Barnes.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stokes Landing Senior Center in Irrigon, or to the Boardman Senior Center.
