Francis Xaviour “Frank” Baggenstos was born June 3rd, 1927, at Sherwood, Ore., to parents Joseph Herman and Anna Marie (Mueller) Baggenstos. He died Thursday, November 10th, 2011, at Deanna’s Adult Foster Care in Irrigon, Ore. at the age of 84.

Frank was born on the family farm, one of 11 children. He was raised in Sherwood and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany. He returned to Sherwood and farmed with his two brothers, Ed and John. He worked for the John Deere Dealership in Hillsboro for awhile before moving to Echo, Oregon, in 1991 where he worked for his nephew, Tony Amstad. His wife Susie Jean Baggenstos died in 2006. 

Frank was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting.

He is survived by brother Ed Baggenstos of Sherwood, Ore.; sister Marge Sambuceto of Canby, Ore.; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie, in 2006; parents Joe and Anna; siblings Joe, Ann, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Bertha, Benny, and Martin.

Recitation of the Rosary followed by funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 17th, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston, Ore. Burial with military honors will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside committal at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church’s parish hall.
