Dr. James R. Randol, 65, of Sioux Falls, S.D., a former Hermiston radiologist, died at home Thursday, June 26, 2008, of cancer.
His memorial service was Thursday at New Hope Community Church, 1350 S. Highway 395 in Hermiston.
A second service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the La Center Evangelical Free Church, 111 E. Fifth St. in La Center, Wash.
Dr. Randol was born May 8, 1943, to Lloyd and Rose Randol, in Oakland, Calif.
In 1961, he graduated from Ridgefield High School in Ridgefield, Wash. In 1965, he graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1969. He joined the U.S. Air Force, where he was a flight surgeon and completed his residency in radiology.
He married Kathy Randol in 1963. Dr. Randol practiced radiology at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria from 1986 to 1991. He retired from his medical practice in Hermiston April 1.
Survivors include his wife in Sioux Falls; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Randol of Seattle and Shelly and Tim Miller of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Derek and Julia Miller of Sioux Falls; and three brothers, Steve and Ed Randol of Vancouver, Wash., and John Randol of Kelso, Wash.
His parents and a brother, Tom Randol, preceded him in death.
