Darrell C. Maxwell, 88, of Tacoma died Monday, June 4, in Tacoma, Washington, of age-related causes and Alzheimer’s disease. He was born June 18, 1923, in Newberg, Oregon, to E. Miles and Gladys Maxwell. He married Betty J. Vrooman in 1944 in Denver, Colo.

He was a long-time Beaver Believer and loved their baseball team, especially their NCAA back-to-back national championships. He even tolerated his two Duck sons. He picked up golf late in life, but enjoyed using his handicap to defeat his kids at our annual family reunion in Crooked River, Oregon.
