Cecelia Butts

Cecilia Butts, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at her home at Rose Arbor in Hermiston. At her request, no services will be held. Disposition will be by cremation.  

Mrs. Butts was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Hague, N.D., to John and Martina (Sitter) Hilt, one of eleven children. She moved to Herreid, S.D., where she attended school and helped on the family farm. At the age of 22 she moved to California, where worked for Merrill Lynch Company. 

She worked as a clerical assistant, in a meat packing plant and as a waitress. She lived in California, Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma while in the livestock industry. 

While in California she met and married Wayne Fox in 1955; he died in 1981. She moved to Hermiston in 1975. She met Robert “Bob” Butts while bowling and married him in 1985; he passed away in 2007.

Mrs. Butts is survived by sister Magdelena (Marge) Weisbeck; stepdaughter Eileen Marshall of Pendleton and her family; and longtime caregivers and friends Bryan and Lou Ann Wolfe of Hermiston.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Fox; son Gary Fox; and second husband Robert “Bob” Butts.
