HERMISTON - Billie Joan Curtis, 66, of Hermiston died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at her home. A graveside service was held Thursday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mrs. Curtis was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Laramie, Wyo., to Floyd and Irme Jean Holden Ricks. She was raised and attended school in Wyoming before moving to Umatilla in 1959. She later moved to Hermiston, where she has lived since. She married David W. Curtis in 1963 in Jerome, Idaho.

Survivors include sons Bill Curtis and David Curtis, both of Hermiston; daughters Samantha Hixson and Cindy Curtis of Spokane, Wash.; sister Margaret Thomas of Spokane; 12    grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Curtis; her parents; and six brothers and sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 380 S.E. Spokane No. 110, Portland, OR 97202.
