Anna Beth Anderson-Duke, 61, of Hermiston died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash., following a long battle with breast cancer. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints in Hermiston. Burial will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at Hilltop Cemetery in Nyssa.

Mrs. Anderson-Duke was born Dec. 27, 1949, in Ontario to Jack H. and May Miller Anderson. She was raised in Nyssa, graduating from Nyssa High School. She attended Eastern Oregon College and worked at Merc Department Store in Nyssa. She married Dean Peterson and they later divorced. 

She moved to the Hermiston area in the late 1970s, where she worked for JR Simplot and later RDO Equipment. She married Donald A. Duke and they had one child. 

Mrs. Anderson-Duke is survived by her mother, May Anderson of Nyssa; brother Jim Anderson of Pilot Rock; two grandchildren; and family friend Junia Ker of Aurora, Colo.

She was preceded in death by son Scott Donald Duke; father Jack H. Anderson; and ex-husband Donald A. Duke.
