Alice Eft

Alice T. Eft, 85, of Hermiston died peacefully Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her home in the arms of her family. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 9 at 4 p.m. at lower Catherine Creek State Park near Union. Friends are welcome to attend.

Mrs. Eft was born Alice Myrl Turner Sept 23, 1925, in Medical Springs to James Oliver and Nina Joy Haines Turner. She grew up in Union and moved to Hermiston in 1943, where she met the love of her life and husband-to-be, George P. Eft, a sergeant in the Army Air Corp stationed at Pendleton Field. She and George were married in 1943 in Lewiston, Idaho. When George was discharged from the service they settled in Pilot Rock, where they raised four daughters.
