The Hermiston Herald asked patrons of the Hermiston School District what they thought about the $69.9 million bond the district is putting before voters in November.
"I think it would be good. I think we need better schools in the area."
"I think it's well overdue. I went to school at Sunset and Armand Larive and you can only remodel so much. My son goes to Desert View and he loves it. It's nice and has all the new things and technology. I went into Sunset a while back and it just needs to be update - it's old."
"I believe they need to pay for the schools they have. We have huge, huge taxes now. If they add more, senior citizens can't afford things now. I think if they get the high school paid for then they can ask for more."
"One of the main reasons I decided to come here ... is it's the number one school district in the state with an 85 percent graduation rate and that's why I'm all for this. I'm really, really, really, very impressed with the schools here. The school system is the best in the state."
