ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 11 — Fred Hissong, president of the Washington Demilitarization Company (WDC), announced the appointment of Douglas G. Hamrick as project general manager of the Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF).

Hamrick replaces General Manager Ron Garner, who is becoming plant manager for Pine Bluff Chemical Agent Disposal Facility in Arkansas. That incinerator is said to have the same basic design as UMCDF.

Hamrick grew up in the Tri-Cities area.

Hamrick brings management experience in virtually every aspect of the life cycle of such facilities from construction to startup and from operations to closure. His new assignment is effective immediately. He will report directly to Hissong.
