Umatilla voters may have a chance to vote in November on whether they are interested in creating a parks and recreation district.

The Umatilla City Council is meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall to decide if an advisory ballot measure should be forwarded to voters for the November ballot, said Larry Clucas, city manager. The reason for the rush is the deadline for filing ballot measures is Aug. 26.
