At 2 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, Hermiston Police received a report of a silver Hummer with juveniles breaking and damaging mailboxes in the 700 block of West Ridgeway Avenue. Later in the morning, officers received numerous calls of vehicles being damaged: Mirrors were hit with an object as well as a window on one car being damaged. The total damages for all victims totaled more than $1,000.

Monday afternoon, two individuals — one juvenile and an 18-year-old, Tyler Smith — were arrested in connection with the vandalism. Both confessed their involvement, and a bat was seized and placed into evidence. Both teens were charged with Criminal Mischief I.
