HERMISTON — The Hermiston School District is offering parents a chance to get some help dealing with their children's behavior.

Dr. Douglas Smith will present his Power Parenting Program at 7 p.m. on April 3 at Sandstone Middle School. The program will be in the school commons area.

The school district is sponsoring the seminar. Officials said the program gives parents tools to help their children. The Title One program is funding the presentation.

Smith has been in private practice in Hermiston for 14 years. He practices marriage and family counseling. He began working with parents and their children on behavior more than 20 years ago.

"You can help a child much better through working with their parents," he explained.
