Rocky Heights and Desert View elementary schools and author Trudy Ludwig will be hosting a parent training on understanding kids’ online and offline social words.

The training will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Hermiston High School auditorium. Some of the topics Ludwig will discuss are relational aggression — the use of relationships to manipulate and hurt others, the nature of boys’ and girls’ friendships, cyberbullying and tips, tools and other resources to help parents empower their children in the social world.

Ludwig is the author of several nationally acclaimed books including “My Secret Bully, Just Kidding, Sorry, Trouble Talk,” “To Perfect, Confessions of a Former Bully, Better Than You” and “The Invisible Boy.” This presentation is for adults only and is free to all those who are interested.

Ludwig will also be spending all day Monday at Rocky Heights Elementary School and all day Tuesday at Desert View where she will conduct two assemblies at each school.

For more information, visit Ludwig’s website at, or contact Rocky Heights at 541-667-6600 or Desert View at 541-667-6900.
