HERMISTON — The waiting is finally over for teacher and parents at Rocky Heights Elementary.

School district officials selected a candidate to replace retiring Rocky Heights principal Dr. Richard Mack. District officials will ask the school board to extend a contract to Dennis Eygabroad at its April 1 meeting.

"I believe he will soon earn the respect of the Rocky Heights teachers, parents and staff," stated Hermiston School District Superintendent Dr. Jerry Wilson.

Eygabroad is the principal at Peter G. Schmidt Elementary School in Tumwater, Wa. The school, located near the Washington state capital of Olympia, is home to 540 students.
