The Hermiston School District sent letters containing adjusted school assignments to parents and guardians last week.

After approving the recommendations of a school boundary committee, the Hermiston Board of Education established new boundary lines, which will require many students to attend different schools beginning next fall.

A waiver process is available for those wishing to opt-out of attending a certain school. Applications are available at any school or the district office — waiver applications are due by Friday, Dec. 17 at 12 p.m.

For more information, visit the boundary committee's website at www.hermiston.k12.or.us/growth-boundarycommittee, visit a school or call the district office at 541-667-6000.
