The monthly Red Cross Blood drive, in Hermiston, was Nov. 21 at Good Shepherd Medical Center. There were 52 appointments and a majority of those donors met their appointments. The goal for the month of November was 39 units, and the drive was quite successful with 48 units drawn.

The canteen was provided by the Hermiston Catholic Daughters. The organizers of the drive thank the community groups that donate their time and food to our donors. The highlights for this drive were first-time donor Naomi Sanchez; eight gallons for Polly Briscoe and nine gallons for Doris M. Wallain.

The December drive date has been changed to Thursday, Dec. 29 at Good Shepherd Medical Center. This change was made to accommodate the staffing of the drive by the Red Cross. If you would like to give at the Dec. 29th drive, please call 1-800-448-3543 or 1-800-733-2767. Walk ins are always appreciated, but it is important for the logistics of the drive to have appointments.
