Theresia Margreta Walsh

HERMISTON — Theresia Margreta Walsh died Wednesday, Nov. 19, at her home in Hermiston at the age of 80.

Theresia was born April 24, 1923, in Straubing, Germany, to Joseph and Margarete (Berger) Niedermeier. She had been a resident of Hermiston for the past year, formerly of Tulsa, Okla., for nine years.

She grew up in Germany and moved to the United States in 1948. She married George Walsh in Straubing, Germany. They lived in numerous places while George was in the U.S. Air Force, including England, Scotland, Germany and all over the United States.

Theresia obtained her citizenship in 1955 while living in Anchorage, Alaska.

She enjoyed frequently traveling to Germany to visit her family, and playing Bingo, cards and slot machines. She loved parties and was lovingly called a "party animal."

She is survived by four children, Bill Jacobi of Tulsa, Okla., Silke Clough of Hermiston, George P. Walsh of Corsicana, Texas, and Joseph Peter Walsh of Bremerton, Wash.; brothers, Peter Niedermeier and Wolfgang Niedermeier, both of Straubing, Germany; sisters, Freida Danninger and Ottilie Kubinger, both of Straubing, Germany; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Walsh; parents, Joseph and Margarete Niedermeier; and six siblings.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Disposition was by cremation.

Clarice A. Maxwell

Nov. 7, 1923-Nov. 20, 2003

HERMISTON — Clarice A. Maxwell died Thursday, Nov. 20, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston at the age of 80.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1923, in Hitchins, Ky., to William and Elizabeth Moore Knipp, and was raised and attended schools in Kentucky. She later worked as a cashier in Ashland, Ky.

She moved to Phoenix, Ariz., for a time where she continued to work as a cashier.

Clarice married Bruce Maxwell on Aug. 13, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nev. They lived in Oxnard, Calif., until 1983 when they moved to Hermiston where they have lived since.

She enjoyed reading the Bible, and spending time and visiting with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Maxwell of Hermiston; son, Patrick McNeal of Umatilla; daughters, Sue Nichols and Bobbie Hansen, both of Hermiston; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; son, William "Bill: Posey, in 1993; one brother; and five sisters.

A private family service was held, along with a private burial at the Hermiston Cemetery.
