HERMISTON — Mr. Lucky has a new home — no more dragging behind pickup trucks.

Mr. Lucky, of unknown breed, was rescued June 8 when he was seen being pulled by a rope behind a pickup truck. Umatilla County residents John and Melinda Earll took Mr. Lucky to the veterinarians and raised money to pay several hundred dollars in medical expenses, as well as the cost for having Mr. Lucky neutered.

The new owners, Belinda Badorek and her fiance Andy Keenan, of Kennewick, took Mr. Lucky home with them, after an evening celebrating over pizza with the Earlls. The couple learned of Mr. Lucky when visiting with Mr. Earll in the shopping line at Costco, and commenting on Earll’s shopping cart, which was filled with items for the dog.
