Bank of Eastern Oregon earns top equity rank
The D.A. Davison Oregon Bank quarterly report for March 31 has ranked BEO Bancorp first among all banks for return on average equity.
BEO Bancorp, parent company of Bank of Eastern Oregon, had a return of on average equity of 22.8 percent for the first quarter of 2008.
The report lists all Oregon-based community banks, said Babette Wall, BEO marketing coordinator.
"We are pleased that our organization has achieved this level of profitability," said President and Chief Executive Officer E. George Koffler. "Our employees continue to add value to our stockholders' investment with great results."
Hoffman named Ambassador of the Year
The Hermiston Chamber Ambassadors named Jeanne Hoffman, Hermiston Herald general manager, Ambassador of the Year June 24. Ambassador Chair Sharon Sirovatka said Hoffman does a lot for the chamber and its members, always is at chamber events and generally goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Chamber elects board
Debbie Pedro, Greater Hermiston Chamber of Commerce Board executive director, announced the new board of directors June 24 at the chamber luncheon.
The board comprises president Dee Strawick, vice president Dennis Burke, treasurer Carolleen Stockdale, and directors Steve Watkinds, Phil Hamm, LouAnn Davison, Ann Spicer, Jeanne Hoffman, Wendy Osgood, Mike Botti and past president Maryl Featherstone. They begin their terms this month.
The chamber honored outgoing past president Jackie Wheelhouse and board members Shirley Parsons, Cecil Thorne, Gary Welch and Sharon Sirovatka for their time on the board.
