Santa to arrive in Hermiston next week

Santa will arrive in Hermiston for his annual visit Nov. 28. He will arrive by way of Life Flight air ambulance at 10 a.m. at a landing zone provided by Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services at Cottage Plaza, 1725 N. Highway 305.

Santa will be arriving to Hermiston this year via a Life Flight helicopter on Nov. 28.

His helicopter will land at the Cottage Plaza at 10 a.m. in a landing zone that will be set up by Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services. Pictures with Santa are free, however he is asking that people donate a food item to him for the Agape House’s Elementary School Food Backpack Program. People are also welcome to take pictures with their own camera or cell phone.

During the event, Life Flight will host a community outreach event and provide residents with information about its air ambulance services and membership.

Santa will stay in Hermiston through Dec. 23 and will have regular visiting hours Fridays, Saturdays and select Sundays at Cottage Plaza between Auto Zone and Taco Bell, 1725 N. Highway 395. The hours can be found on local fliers and on Yo Country Frozen Yogurt’s Facebook page. According to a press release, during the event last year, more than 1,000 professional pictures were emailed to families that took photos with Santa.

All through Santa’s stay, donations will also be accepted for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Seattle Firefighter Stair Climb, in which the Hermiston Fire Department participates every March.
