ROSEBURG — Leon Dale "Loni" Wilson died Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Veterans Administration Roseburg Health System in Roseburg at the age of 54.

He was born May 13, 1952 at Pendleton to Chester Alvin and Frances Rose (Corey) Wilson.

Loni was raised in Irrigon and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed sketching and pottery.

He is survived by daughter, Sunshine Wilson of Kansas City, Mo.; mother, Rose Wilson of Lynnwood, Wash.; brothers, Jim Wilson of Nyssa, John Wilson of Hermiston, and Larry Wilson of Saratoga, Calif.; and sisters, Grace Bartlett of Lynnwood, Wash., and Carmine Wilson of Tucson, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Wilson.

A graveside burial of cremains service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at the Stokes Landing Senior Center in Irrigon.
