Anna Frances Kress

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Anna Frances Kress, 87, a former resident of Hermiston, died Friday, May 4, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash.

Anna had been living with her daughter, Bernadine Ball, in Pendleton for a number of years. She was born on Nov. 4, 1913, in Albion, Neb., to Henry William and Frances Uphoff Meyer. She married Harold William Kress in Clarkston, Wash., on Aug. 14, 1934.

Anna was a homemaker and was a member of the Nazarene Church. She enjoyed her family and church.

Anna is survived by her son, Ivan Kress of Puyallup, Wash.; two daughters, Bernadine Ball of Pendleton and Patricia Robertson of Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marcella Joy of Spokane, Wash., and Germaine Loeffler of San Leandro, Calif.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on March 3, 1992; brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 1 p.m. at the Burns Mortuary Chapel of Hermiston with burial to follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of the arrangements.
