“Josh” Knight

HERMISTON — Joshua Thomas “Josh” Knight died on March 13, at his home in Hermiston at the age of 21.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1980, in Umatilla to David and Rebecca “Becky” Shoda Knight. He spent his primary years in the Portland area and then moved to Hermiston where he attended and graduated from Hermiston High School in 1998. He was a member of the bubble club and track team in high school. He was working for UPS at the distribution center in Hermiston.

Josh enjoyed socializing with friends and family, traveling, cars, flying kits, roller blading, dirt biking and camping. He was a member of the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene. He had a “honorary membership” at Taco Bell, McDonald’s and various other fast food restaurants.

Josh is survived by his parents, David and Becky Knight of Hermiston; grandpartents, Ronald and Kay Shoda of Columbia City, Ind., and Willis “Whitey” and Melva Knight of Hermiston; brother, Justin Knight of Hermiston; six aunts; six uncles; and 16 cousins.

A funeral service was held Saturday, March 17, at the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene. Burial followed at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Those who wish may make contributions to the Epilepsy Foundation in care of Burns Mortuary of Hermiston at P.O. Box 289, Hermiston, 97838. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
