Lydia Alice Johnson

HERMISTON — Lydia Alice Johnson, 78, of Umatilla died Dec. 11, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1923, in Bethune, S.C., to F.C. and Alma Stokes Humphrey. She married William H. Johnson of Colfax, Wash., on May 14, 1943, in Columbia, S.C. They moved to Umatilla in 1948.

She was a housewife who enjoyed sewing, gardening, yard selling and her family.

She is survived by her husband, William H. Johnson of Umatilla; six brothers and sisters of South Carolina; daughters and their husbands, Jeanie (Johnson) and Terry Reynolds of Lemoore, Calif., Linda (Johnson) and Joe Aquirre of Elko, Nev., and Judy (Johnson) and Rusty Tybo of Wells, Nev.; four grandchildren, Ginny Reynolds, Stacey Madison, Jeff Whipple and Niki Murphy; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers and a granddaughter, Kara Tybo.

At her request, there will be no services or memorials. Disposition was by cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family desires memorial contributions be made to the Kara Tybo Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 686, Wells, Nev., 98935. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
