Patricia Luella James

HERMISTON — Patricia Luella James died Friday, March 23, at her home in Hermiston at the age of 81.

Pat was born on Dec. 14, 1919, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Hugh and Ethel (Johnson) Berry. She had been a resident of Hermiston since 1976. On July 2, 1960, she married Gay James in Elko, Nev. She had lived in Orofino, Idaho, along with several other cities in Oregon while her husband worked construction.

While in Hermiston, Pat worked as a waitress for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, needle work, reading, camping, fishing, hunting and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gay James of Hermiston; daughter, Dorothy Ward of Hermiston; sister, Norma Sherrill of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Ethel Berry; son, Raymond “Butch” Shores; and brother, John Wesley “Wes” Berry.

At her request, there will be no services held. Disposition was by cremation.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
