HERMISTON — Mildred Louise “Midge” Howe-Gray died Thursday, Dec. 13, at Patti’s Haven II Adult Foster Care Home in Hermiston at the age of 76.

Midge was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Cameron, W.Va., to George Street and Elizabeth D. (Gorbey) Montgomery. She had been a resident of Hermiston since 1975. She worked for many years as a care giver for Home Health Care in Pendleton. She was a former member of the Jehovah Witness.

She enjoyed her cactus garden, and loved to read books and tell stories of the places she read about. Midge was a loving mother and grandmother who truly loved life.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Howe of Tempe, Ariz., and Terry Howe of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter, Sharon Harvey of Hermiston; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Howe, in 1971, and a sister, Ruth Flint.

Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 17, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
