Organizers for the Hemiston Warming Station are working hard to find a site for this year have not been able to secure one.

The group is hosting an open site coordination meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 665 E Gladys.

Members of the committee and board will be there, and anyone who has ideas or information about a warming station site is encouraged to join them.

The group plans to be ready to open on Nov. 1 if the temperature is 35 or below.

Warming stations provided a safe, warm environment for the homeless and other people in need to stay in on nights where the temperature is below freezing.
