Well below normal temperatures to continue through Sunday.

Very dry and very cold air will continue to filter into eastern Oregon and Washington. As a result, temperatures will be running 15 to 25 degrees below normal.

Clear skies and light winds will allow for very cold overnight low temperatures tonight. Lower elevations will see low temperatures between 10 and 20 degrees. With zero to 10 degrees in the higher elevations. Meanwhile, weekend high temperatures will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s in the Columbia Basin, and in the mid 20s to lower 30s in the mountains Friday through Sunday.

People should prepare for winter-like temperatures by protecting tender vegetation and household pets. Cold temperatures are forecast to last at least through the middle of next week.
