The Hermiston Police Department made two DUII arrests between March 16 and 18, St. Patrick’s Day weekend, an increase from the three-day period last year, when there were no DUII arrests made, Acting Police Chief Jason Edmiston said Monday.

Oregon State Police troopers in Hermiston reported no DUII arrests in Hermiston over the weekend, according to OSP personnel.

There were 22 DUII arrests across the state between noon on Saturday, March 17, and 4 a.m. Sunday March 18. That number is up from 16 DUII arrests for the same time period last year.

The La Grande, Bend and Springfield Command OSP offices reported two DUII arrests during that time period while the Central Point, Albany and Portland command OSP offices each reported three DUII arrests.

OSP reported three total fatalities from two separate traffic incidents. One incident occurred on Highway 20, west of Bend and one on Highway 22 west of Dallas.
