Carty Generating hearing scheduled

The Oregon Department of Energy will hold a public hearing April 5, on the proposed Carty Generating Station, 13 miles southwest of Boardman.

The meeting will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Port of Morrow’s Well Springs Conference Room (2 Marine Drive).

The proposed combined-cycle generating plant, fueled by natural gas, could produce up to 900 megawatts of electrical power.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments on a Draft Proposed Order that was issued recently by the Oregon Department of Energy. The order contains recommended findings on the project’s compliance with Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council’s siting standards.
