Shirley Ann Graham

March 1929-April 11, 2003

UMATILLA — Shirley Ann Graham of Umatilla died Friday, April 11, at an adult care home in Hermiston at the age of 74.

She was born on March 26, 1929, in Union where she was raised until moving to Portland where she attended Roosevelt High School. She later moved to Ranier and attended Lower Columbia River Community College for a time. She moved to Umatilla in 1977 and had lived there since.

She worked for Lamb Weston in Hermiston until retiring in 1991.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, genealogy and playing Pinnacle.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hermiston.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Graham of Ranier; daughters, Katie Graham of Portland, Laura Gray of Umatilla and Josephine Powney of Hermiston; sister, Sharon Scott of Elmira; nine grandchildren, Aimee, Jeff, Christine, Matthew, Kelly, Tammy, Karol, Robert and Shaylee; and five great-grandchildren, Kamiah, Robert, Marissa, Haley and Hannah.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Alta Mae Gambill, and son-in-law, Michael Gray.

A memorial graveside service was held Monday, April 14, at Union Cemetery in Union.

Those who wish may make contributions in Shirley's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at 1311 N.W. 21st Ave., Portland, 97209.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
